Napa, CA– July 26, 2022 AR-G spent the weekend in Nashville, Tennessee campaigning the MetaVC Partners Ford Mustang GT4 for round 9 and 10 of GT America alongside IndyCar at the Music City Grand Prix. Edgar Lau was behind the wheel in place of Chris Allegro.

Qualifying

Lau went out behind teammate Robb Holland in formation and began putting down fast laps as the green flag dropped. Holland took pole position with Lau locking out the front row for AR-G and Rotek Racing.

Race 1

Race one was Lau's first time back racing on a street course in many years. Lau started the race in P2 alongside Robb Holland.

“It's always tricky starting on the outside on a street course. The Aston in third squeezed by me into turn 1 on the start and there really was no comeback on the tight street course," said Lau. "I tried everything I could to pass the Aston but I just didn't have enough straight line speed to contest into the next braking zone despite quicker through the corners,” continued Lau. The Mustang GT4 finished on the podium and took third place with 6th fastest time during the race that would then put Lau in 6th on the grid for Sunday's race.

Race 2
Lau having started in 6th place made quick work of the cars ahead and avoided an incident into the first corner after the green flag. That incident saw Lau taking over 3rd place. The #124 Mustang began putting pressure on the 2nd placed Aston before the 4th placed car caught up and eventually was able to take advantage of a lapped competitor who had slowed Lau down, to make a pass.

Lau would then stayed 4th for the remainder of the race.

"It was frustrating," said Lau,"knowing that we have the pace for fast laps only to be undone by our lack of straight line speed where it mattered. But we will learn from this experience and come back even stronger."

"Lau does it again! We are so proud of him for securing his 3rd SRO GT4 podium in a row in the AR-G MetaVC Partners Mustang GT4," said Doug Makishima, AR-G cofounder. "We definitely have momentum now in this top-level race series thanks to our crew and sponsors, and our partner race team Rotek Racing."
